Big Cypress National Preserve: Gyro-Tracs were deployed on a lightning-caused fire . . . in late June of 2004 . . . proved to be an excellent suppression tool on the fire . . . As well as reducing hazardous fuels, the Gyro-Tracs are also accelerating the re-establishment of the coastal prairie . . .
APRIL 2004 -- USDA Forest Service News - East Fork Fire burns 26,279 acres in
